J&K: Pakistan Violates Ceasefire In Naushera Sector, Army Jawan killed

Pakistan Army on Saturday again violated the ceasefire and initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of mortars on an Army patrol in Naushera sector along the Line of Control (LoC) killing an army jawan.

Rifleman Bikas Gurung was grievously injured and later succumbed to his injuries. The 21 year old Jawan, belonged to Khunka Khuki village of Manipur and is survived by his mother.

According to a statement by Army, “The unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan, especially on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, is highly unethical and unprofessional. Our troops have exercised maximum restraint in spite of the grave provocation. However, the Army has been forced to respond to the unprovoked firing.”

The Army also cancelled the exchange of sweets with the Pakistani Army on the occasion of Eid.
