Jammu and Kashmir DG Prisons murdered at friend’s home

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Prisons Hemant Kumar Lohia,  57, was found murdered at his friend’s home on the outskirts of Jammu with his domestic help being seen by the police as the main suspect.

The murder took place on the eve of the home minister Amit Shah’s visit to the union territory.

Police have so far ruled out any terror angle. The domestic help, 23, is absconding, giving credence to the police version.

Ahmed, according to senior Jammu police officer Mukesh Singh,   had been suffering from severe depression.

However a terror group, People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), has claimed responsibility for the murder.
