Jammu and Kashmir: Civilian killed by terrorist

In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old civilian was killed by terrorist hours after his abduction on Saturday from Saidpora area of Shopian.

Terrorists killed a youth by slitting his throat and later his body was recovered from an orchard in Hermain village of the south Kashmir district.

The deceased was identified as Huzaif Ashraf, a resident of Manzgam area of the neighbouring Kulgam district.

According to the reports, Huzaif was kidnapped by terrorists from a bakery shop in Saidpora Payeen village. Later, two others were also abducted but were freed after questioning, while Huzaif was taken to Hermain village where his throat was slit in a brutal manner.

Huzaif’s body was handed over to his family after completion of the medico-legal formalities.

Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah condemned the killing in a tweet, “Another dastardly killing of a young man, this time the terrorists slit his throat. This barbarism has no place in our society & no struggle, no matter how lofty the claims to justify it, can condone this inhuman behaviour. #Kashmir (sic)”

Further investigation was underway.

On Friday, a bullet riddled body of a teenager, Nadeem Manzoor, who was also abducted by terrorists, was found in Kilora area of Pulwama. Manzoor was reportedly executed on suspicion of being an informer for security forces.
