Jammu and Kashmir: Amit Shah visits family of policeman killed in terror attack

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday visited the family of a police officer who lost his life in a terror attack in the state.

“Visited the home of inspector Arshad Khan, SHO Anantnag in Srinagar, who was martyred in a terror attack & offered my condolences to the bereaved family,” Amit Shah said in a tweet.

“His sacrifice for the security of our nation has saved many lives. Entire nation is proud of Arshad Khan‘s valour & courage,” Shah added.

The officer is survived by his wife, two children, parents and a brother.

Arshad Khan, a Station House Officer (SHO), was injured when a terrorist fired at a patrol team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Anantnag town on June 12. He was shifted to AIIMS Delhi where he succumbed to his injuries.

Five CRPF soldiers were also killed in the attack.

This is Shah’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after he took charge as a Home Minister.
