India’s COVID-19 cases rise to 14,35,453; Death toll at 32,771

The number of coronavirus cases in India have risen to 14,35,453 as it recorded 49,931 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. A total of 32,771 coronavirus patients have lost their lives, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday.

There are 4,85,114 active cases while 9,17,567 have been cured/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 3,75,799 with 13,656 fatalities.

Tamil Nadu has the second highest COVID-19 cases – 2,13,723 with 3,494 deaths followed by Delhi – 1,30,606 and 3,827 deaths, Karnataka – 96,141 with 1,878 deaths, Andhra Pradesh – 96,298 and 1,041 deaths, Uttar Pradesh – 66,988 and 1,426 deaths West Bengal – 58,718 and 1,372 deaths and Gujarat – 55,822 and 2,326 fatalities.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Monday said a total of 1,68,06,803 samples have been tested up to July 26 of which 5,15,472 samples were tested yesterday.
