India reports 24,850 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours, tally over 6.73 lakh

The number of coronavirus cases in India have risen to 6,73,165 as it recorded 24,850 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. A total of 19,268 coronavirus patients have lost their lives, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.

There are 2,44,814 active cases while 4,09,082 have been cured/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 2,00064 with 8,671 fatalities.

Tamil Nadu has the second highest COVID-19 cases – 1,07,001 with 1,450 deaths followed by Delhi – 97,200 and 3,004 deaths, Gujarat – 35,312 cases and 1,925 fatalities and Uttar Pradesh – 26,554 cases and 773 deaths.

A total of 97,89,066 samples have been tested so far of which 2,48,934 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
