Delhi Police register 22 FIRs in connection with violence during tractor parade

22 FIRs have so far been registered by Delhi police in connection with the violence that broke out in the national capital during the farmers’ tractor rally on Tuesday – the day when India was celebrating the 72nd Republic Day.

Over 100 policemen were injured in the incident, sources said.

The Delhi Police is scanning all mobile and video footage to identify the perpetrators.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) yesterday ordered the temporary suspension of internet services in some parts of Delhi (NCR) amid the clashes between the protesting farmers and the Delhi Police during the farmers’ tractor rally.

Chaos unfolded on Tuesday as protesting farmers broke through barriers, fought with police and hoisted a religious flag from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
