Coronavirus pandemic:  Death toll nears 70,000 globally

More than 68000 people have lost their lives due to coronavirus pandemic that affected several countries around the world.

Italy has maximum number of deaths followed by Spain, US and France.

The US has entered one of the most critical weeks so far with mounting number of cases and deaths. Over 9500 people have died in the United States with at least 330,000 confirmed infections.

During the press briefing at White House, US president Donald Trump had said, “Today, every patriotic American heart beats in solidarity with the incredible people of New York and New Jersey.”

“America has the best doctors, military leaders, and logistics professionals anywhere in the world—and we’re orchestrating a federal response unlike anything our country has seen,” he said.

“I would like to ask for your prayers for the families who have lost loved ones,” he added.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said, “This virus is an effective killer. The vulnerable must be protected. That’s why we are all Staying Home. Not only for us — but to protect the lives of others.”
