Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday flagged off the first bus service between Bihar and Nepal.

Kumar said, Bihar and Nepal are now connected and this will strengthen the relations between the two.

Chief Minister said the service will link Bodhgaya in Bihar to Kathmandu in Nepal. Similarly, Patna in Bihar to Janakpur in Nepal.

The bus service was commissioned after an agreement between India and Nepal.

The buses from Kathmandu to Bodh Gaya will start plying in the second week of September, said Sanjay Agrawal, Secretary in the Transport Department.

As per the reports, the bus service between Bihar and Nepal was due to start in May but was delayed due to lack of official approval from both sides.
