25 MPs test positive for coronavirus on first day of Parliament’s monsoon session

As many as 25 members of Parliament have tested positive for COVID-19 just before the Monsoon session of Parliament. Meenakshi Lekhi, Anant Kumar Hegde and Parvesh Sahib Singh were among the MPs who have tested positive for virus. 

According to the sources, the members were tested at the Parliament House on September 13 and 14.

Of the 17 MPs infected in Lok Sabha, the BJP has a maximum number-12, two from YSR Congress, and one each from Shiv Sena, DMK and RLP, reports said.

BJP’s Sukanta Majumdar tweeted his positive status on Sunday.

“I have tested #Covid19 positive today. I am doing well & taking doctors advice. Requesting all those who have come in close contact with me in the last few days to monitor their health and get tested in case of any symptoms,” he had tweeted.
